Cardnowls

Well, there's a story behind this one. About 3 years ago I made a speed paint fusion of a cardinal and an owl because I accidentally said "cardnowl" and thought it was funny. I didn't think the image would really amount to much as it only took somewhere between 1-2 hours to complete and looked a bit wonky in some areas. Fast forward 2 years and I get contacted by a fact checking agency about the now heavily cropped and photoshop filtered image. It had apparently gone viral in some areas on the internet with people were either claiming it was a real bird known as a Madagascar Red Owl or a hoax. Of course, it was neither. I found it quite funny as I don't understand how anyone would believe it was a photo of a real bird. Some people were even furious that someone would "ruin an animal like this." Others fought back with "the actual bird is much more impressive, this abomination never should have been made. Shame on the person for making this." Meanwhile I'm here laughing and dumbfounded at people's stupidity. Still to this day I look it up and see people spreading it around as a real thing. Now let's see if this image pops up again in 2 years with people thinking its real and/or wishing death threats upon me.
